BBVA Compass brings their Summer of Opportunity to The Center

BBVA Compass Chief Marketing Officer and Board Member at The Center Jennifer Dominiquini paid a visit to our West Dallas campus this Monday morning for a special edition of The Center’s Pursuit Spin class. The high-energy class was led by Coaches Jourdan Ellis and Steve Quick, who teach the adaptive fitness class every weekday at The Center. Dominiquini pedaled along on a stationary bike, joined by several of The Center’s clients and former Houston Rocket Moochie Norris. ESPN 97.5 Houston was on hand to document the excitement.

After class, Dominiquini presented The Center with a gift of $500 from BBVA Compass. The donation will benefit our fitness program by providing incentives for our clients’ fitness goals.

The visit was a part of the bank’s Summer of Opportunity initiative, which encourages their employees to pay it forward by providing them with gift cards to donate to charitable causes of their choosing. The Pursuit Spin class kicked off a full day of giving that saw Dominiquini and Norris visit and make gifts to three local charities, including The Center, Houston Area Women’s Center, and United Way of Greater Houston. The pair cycled between the agencies, making a detour to bike around the East End bestowing gift cards on unsuspecting recipients.

The Center’s partnership with BBVA Compass goes back to last summer’s Pursuit for those with disABILITIES, a 3,500-mile cross-country bike ride and capital campaign that raised an incredible $13.5 million for our organization. BBVA Compass was the campaign’s head sponsor, and Dominiquini herself even joined the ride from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Chicago.

The ESPN 97.5 segment on Monday’s visit aired on July 17th at 10 a.m. Jennifer Dominiquini will talk with Deborah Duncan about the visit and their Summer of Opportunity on July 19th on KHOU’s Great Day Houston.
