Director of Supported Employment
Location:

Schedule:  Varies (primarily days but will require evenings and weekends at times)
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all aspects of The Center’s Employment Services program. This includes, but is not limited to, marketing, assisting with budgeting preparation/ensuring the program stays within budget, contract negotiation, staffing, and strategic planning. This position is expected to be the subject matter expert in philosophies and practices of employment service delivery to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). In addition, the Director of Supported Employment will be responsible for recruiting and seeking employment opportunities for adults with I/DD in the competitive labor market. He or she will meet with employers to create new openings, assist with job interviews, act as an advocate for the consumer and employee, and perform additional duties as assigned. Frequent travel in own vehicle required. Irregular hours and stressful situations may be encountered. This position also serves on various committees.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, human resources, human services, or related field is required. Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in supported employment or job coaching to include those with high support needs is required, in addition to 5+ years of experience managing similar programs serving people with I/DD or those needing similar services. Knowledge of HCS Medicaid waiver regulations is strongly preferred. Knowledge of AbilityOne, Source America, and Ticket to Work is strongly preferred. Applicant should have excellent leadership, verbal, and writing skills; must be comfortable with working independently; must have demonstrated experience in positive, proactive behavior and management techniques; must have best-practice knowledge and demonstrated professional networks established locally in vocational services; must be adept at providing consultation, training, and technical assistance in best practices; must have general knowledge of the local labor market and local business trends, as well as keeping abreast of changes in both of these areas. CESP (Certified Employment Support Professional) certification is required within 90 days after hire. Valid Texas Driver’s License, CPR SAMA certification upon hire and renewed annually thereafter.


Human Resources Representative
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: 3550 West Dallas St Houston, TX 77019
Responsibilities: The Human Resources Representative supports the Chief Human Resources Officer with various administrative duties. This includes, but is not limited to, job postings; prescreening prospective employees (BG check, employment verifications, MVR, offer letter, and other hiring activities); coordinating on-boarding of new hires and conducting first day paperwork (prepare new hire packet and benefit documents); maintaining employee records and other HR-related documents; submitting workers’ compensation documents to insurance carrier; assisting with open enrollments, employee service awards, and other employee reward and recognition programs; verifying and maintaining I-9 documentation; assisting with HR audits; assisting CHRO with various projects and other assigned duties as required. Local travel to satellite locations may be required.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicant must be able to maintain confidential information, be highly organized and detail-oriented, complete tasks in a timely manner, problem-solve, conduct research and organize data, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Exceptional interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills are a must. A successful candidate must have the ability to take initiative to work with minimal supervision and maintain professional composure in stressful situations. Registered Nurse (Full Time, Willow River Farms)
Location: Willow River Farms (4073 FM 3318 Brookshire, TX 77423)
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a rural-based residential center clinic. This position participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team that evaluates clients’ medical, social, and behavioral needs; the Infection Control Committee; and other committees as assigned. Conducts consumer and staff  in-services. Assists in any on-going clinics. Responds to emergencies in other departments as necessary. Clinical Supervision of LVN. Local travel required. Stressful situations may be encountered.

Qualifications: Must have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing. A minimum of three (3) years of medical/surgical nursing experience is required. A successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to work independently and supervise nursing staff; and the ability to interface with a diverse group of clients, families, staff, and physicians. Clinical knowledge of psychoactive medications is required. Applicants must hold a current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Must hold valid Texas Driver’s license. CPR, PMAB, and SAMA certification required upon hire and annually thereafter.

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities: Responsible for instructing and training adults with disabilities, primarily developmental disabilities, within a group home setting. Performs assessments; implements and documents clients’ program plans under the direction of case coordinators; and monitors the safety and health needs of their assigned clients. Conducts training sessions in areas such as daily living skills, community awareness, grooming and hygiene, and personal safety.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year in a residential setting that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities: The Direct Support Professional is responsible for efficiently coordinating the daily activities for the residents in a residential setting. Duties include, but are not limited to, instructing/training residents to achieve maximum independence while fostering a caring, family-style environment; assisting with hygiene, bathing, laundry, and household cleaning; and ensuring necessary documentation is accurate and complete within the established time frame in compliance with regulations. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of each resident in his/her care.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year in a residential setting that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities.
