Registered Nurse (Full Time)
Location: 3550 West Dallas St. Houston, TX 77019

Under the direction of the Director of Health Care Services and in collaboration with the Director of Residential Services, the Registered Nurse provides early recognition, assessment of real/potential healthcare issues for individuals with intellectual and or developmental disabilities (I/DD) who are seeking admission to services within the Center’s I/DD service arena or with contract entities or private providers in community settings. The nurse in this position works cooperatively and effectively with HCS & AAC program/departmental management staff.

Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to: assessing nursing/medical needs, coordinating nursing/medical follow-up with Program Coordinators, assisting in determining appropriate placement settings/services, and providing training/education to staff regarding medical/nursing issues that impact services. The registered nurse will provide on-site consultation in accordance with requirements within the respective time frame. Activities are provided within the framework of the Texas Nurse Practice Act utilizing the nursing process and the professional standards of conduct.

Irregular hours and evening/ weekend work may be required. Performing on-call duties is required. Provides direct supervision to LVN’s and CMA’s assisting with management and oversight of healthcare services. Participates in an on-call rotation with other RN’s.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing experience (not including clinical hours required for education). A minimum of at least one (1) year of mental health/behavioral health/developmental disability nursing experience is preferred.

Skills: Excellent leadership, verbal, and writing skills.

License/Certification(s): RN license.

CPR required upon hire and annually thereafter.


 

Production Manager, Gingersnaps Etc. (Full Time)
Salary: $30,000/year
Location: 3550 West Dallas St Houston, TX 77019
Schedule: Day/hours of work are Monday –Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Frequent evening and weekend work will be required.

Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for providing production/packaging management for Gingersnaps Etc. and Dyna-Bites, including other related food products. This production management role includes scheduling volunteer and paid production personnel/labor, materials, inventory and markets/events in conjunction with 3rd party vendors, other departments, suppliers all under the direction of the Assistant Director of Sales. This production management role must meet production deadlines; assist with direct and online sales fulfilments; as scheduled, occasionally serve as an off-site sales/fulfillment member. The Production Manager will perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sales and/or Director of Business Development assuring efficient operation of production/sales. This position will also exercise appropriate discretion, good judgment, and confidentiality in dealing with Gingersnaps Etc. /related production and sales matters.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum of two (2) years light industrial, shipping-receiving, product handling or sales, and supervisory experience. This position requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related applications, particularly general Excel knowledge. Must have good organizational, problem solving, verbal, and written skills. Frequent in-town travel to local markets and events will be required. Valid Driver’s License is required. Texas Food Handler Certification required after hire.

Physical/ Mental Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent verbal communication and manual dexterity for routine office tasks including typing is needed.

Occupational Exposure: Category III. Category III tasks do not involve exposure to blood or body fluids. Appropriate personal protective equipment is readily available to all who may be exposed to blood or bodily fluids.


Direct Support Professional (Part Time, WRF)
Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour
Location: Willow River Farms (4073 FM 3318 Brookshire, TX 77423)
Schedule: Saturday – Sunday from 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. or Saturday – Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Responsibilities: Responsible for instructing and training adults with disabilities, primarily developmental disabilities, within a group home setting. Performs assessments; implements and documents clients’ program plans under the direction of case coordinators; and monitors the safety and health needs of their assigned clients. Conducts training sessions in areas such as daily living skills, community awareness, grooming and hygiene, and personal safety.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year in a residential setting that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities. Applicant must have good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, exercise independent judgment, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times while at work. Valid Texas Driver’s License, CPR and SAMA certification upon hire and renewed annually thereafter.


Direct Support Professional (Full Time, Momentum Industries)
Pay Rate: $9.44 per hour
Location: 3550 West Dallas St Houston, TX 77019
Schedule: Monday –Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities: Responsible for instructing and training adults with disabilities, primarily developmental disabilities, within a day program setting. Performs assessments; implements and documents clients’ program plans under the direction of case coordinators; and monitors the safety and health needs of their assigned clients. Conducts training sessions in areas such as daily living skills, community awareness, grooming and hygiene, and personal safety. Instructional materials are provided as a part of the daily training, as well as scheduling and participating in community field trips. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year working in a human services setting. Valid Texas Driver’s License, CPR and SAMA certification upon hire and renewed annually thereafter.


Direct Support Professional (Full Time, HCS)
Pay Rate: $9.44 per hour
Location: Group Home
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 4:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. and Monday- Friday from 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

Responsibilities: Responsible for instructing and training adults with disabilities, primarily developmental disabilities, within a group home setting. Performs assessments; implements and documents clients’ program plans under the direction of case coordinators; and monitors the safety and health needs of their assigned clients. Conducts training sessions in areas such as daily living skills, community awareness, grooming and hygiene, and personal safety. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities: The Direct Support Professional is responsible for efficiently coordinating the daily activities for the clients in a residential setting. Duties include, but are not limited to, instructing/training residents to achieve maximum independence while fostering a caring and family-style environment; assisting with hygiene, bathing, laundry, and household cleaning. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of each resident in his/her care. He or she ensures necessary documentation is accurate and complete within the established time frame and is in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus one year in a residential setting providing services to adults with developmental disabilities required. Applicant must have good verbal and writing skills, ability to multi-task, ability to communicate effectively with others, exercise independent judgment, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times while at work. Program Manager, Adult Training and Employment Services (Full Time, ATES)

Schedule: Monday –Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities: In support of The Center’s mission and values, this position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and oversight for all aspects of the Adult Training and Employment Service (ATES) vocational service delivery / Momentum Industries contract production. These functions include, but not limited to, marketing, Provider/ LIDDA (Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authorities), client/staff safety, customer relations, staffing, client programming, Supported Employment transitioning, and billing data input. Momentum Industries operation as apportioned include production scheduling, quality control, job cost analysis, prevailing wage/time studies, purchasing, and shipping and receiving . This position may also serve on various committees. Travel, long/irregular hours, and exposure to stressful situations may be encountered.

Duties: Assists with the development of the annual department budget. Monitors revenues where appropriate and takes immediate action on any variance. Monitors expenditures to ensure none exceed budget without prior approval from the Chief Operating Officer. Reviews all contracts prior to expiration annually and recommends/negotiates changes in accordance with the Contract Policy and with The Center’s interests in mind, ensuring that all reflect The Center’s mission and values. Ensures that the physical environment, staff, clients served, and services offered are always presented in a positive, professional way. Where appropriate, actively promotes The Center programs with public presentations, networking, tours, and other business-related activities. Ensures program policies, practices, and procedures are in compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and state and federal laws at all times. Evaluates program services on an ongoing basis and participates in the annual program evaluation process to recommend program changes based on evaluation criteria; implements recommended changes. Renews program licenses and certificates as required within established timeframes. Ensures that the residents are engaged in meaningful planned activities to meet their needs and desires.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a social service, vocational, marketing, or business administration area is strongly preferred but not required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing similar programs serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or those needing similar services is necessary.
